Sagra della Bistecca – Cortona. It takes place every year on the 14th and 15th of August at the public gardens in Cortona. Here, in a huge 14 m. barbecue, delicious Fiorentina steaks, strictly from Chianina breed, are rare grilled as taught by the old Tuscan tradition.

Giostra dell’Archidado – Cortona. It takes place every year on the first Sunday of June. The Joust has Medieval origins and was officially established in 1397 to celebrate the wedding between Francesco Casali, Lord of Cortona, and Antonia Salimbeni, noblewoman of Siena.
Today the event gains life again with decorated lanes, precious costumes, ladies, knights, flag wavers, crossbowmen, soldiers, pages and civil and religious authorities of the time who animate a historical city centre already rich in history and art beauties.
The Joust consists of a contest with crossbow among the 5 “Quintieri” to hit the 20 mt. far Dice and totalize a score as higher as possible, to win the prestigious “Verretta d’Oro”.
